need a firewall that can monitor external bandwidth
Hi I run a small network of about 20 pcs, and have had a problem with high band width due to virus or intrusion. I need a firewall that can monitor external traffic on each client pc and to send alerts when at a certain level of bandwidth has been reached any ideas on which firewall do this Cheers

i was after a hardware firewall with software that could also do the monitoring
You can try 3com superstack firewalls. It will monitor each ip address in your organization and keep a log of ports and services used the most. You can also set the firewall to send you e-mail logs.

Netscreens are good
I like SonicWall firewalls. Many SonicWall firewalls come with a license for SonicWall Viewpoint, which is very good at looking at what sites each computer is accessing. I run the SonicWall 4060 using Viewpoint and the interface is very easy to use and the reporting is even better. Only thing with that is that you have to create a user for each person and they have to log into the firewall when they open IE. Kinda of annoying, but you can set it to a max of 99 minutes of internet inactivity before it will ask again. The sonicwall also offers the Content filtering, which allows you to restict sites by genre.
I believe GNAT box and Sidewinder also do this.
You could use Smoothwall, that has bandwidth usage graphs etc..., costs nothing just need a old pc to run it on.
