Etrust error logging into administrator view

Version 7.0 etrust. Windows 2000 Server

When I try to log into the administrator view I get the following message

Error connecting to server <server-name>.The account was not granted access to the admin server database.

There have been no changes to the server or software loaded. I have tried reinstalling the admin server portion of etrust but it hangs part way through.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

By default you have to log into the administrator view with the account that was used to install the software. Did you install eTrust with another account than you now try to logon?

Unfortunately not. The admin view logging has been working correctly up until recently

Have a look at this KB article:  http://supportconnect.ca.com/sc/solcenter/sol_detail.jsp?product=ETRAV&release=7.0&number=0000012&type=&os=NT (PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: NT-UNABLE TO LOGIN TO THE ADMINISTRATOR'S VIEW)

The problem could be caused by a corrupted or very large events.dbf events file. There's a patch available that might solve your problem.
