How to convert VOB file into Quicktime !

Hi.

I need to create a console application that would run under Free BSD that read VOB Files (From a DVD) or WMV files and convert it into quicktime or WMV file format.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

this question doesnt belong to this forum.
however you can check out the /usr/ports/multimedia/transcode
utility.

ohh, seems like you want to write it
yourself, in that case you may look
at the source code of the utility :)

You need to understand the DVD structure first. the VOBs contain many video & audio streams. A good place to start would be to have your program first demultiplex the audio/video into their raw streams. The conversion is then up to you. This, of course, is assuming that you are trying to convert a non-retail dvd as this would entail removing the CSS copy-protection.
