How do I get the mac address?

In order to set up my fire wall correctly I have to enter the mac address from the network device.

In windowsXP I can ipconfig /all  and get it from each machine.

How do I obtain the mac address from windows98?

go to start, run and type in winipcfg -- that will give you a dialog box with all kinds of info.

I'm a little confused why you awarded the points to riotz.   I posted the exact same answer -- ahed of riotz, who even admitted he made an error by accidentally duplicating my post.  It's not a huge thing, but ...

I know  I feel bad.

But the truth is I did mean to award the points to you.

I dont know any other way to fix it other the to offer my apologies to the both of  you.

I do fell the points should go to the first person tht answered the problem though.

I guess it is truly my falut for being lazy.   I just could not remember the dang command and didn't want to go to the storage room to pull out the old 98 book.

Realy,  Im feel bad about it but Im not sure how to correct the problem.  I did post in commuinty help for mod to correct it.

No worries. A moderator will straighten it out, and all will be well.  I wouldn't have said anything, but if I don't earn a certain number of points every month, I lose "premium" status. I know I'll be traveling later this month, and won't be online, so points early this month really help me out.  Otherwise, I really wouldn't have even said anything. I appreciate you letting a moderator know!  And I'm glad you got your problem solved--we all have those days!

Thanks!
ksearch.
