HP 5000 - Strange Issues

As of yesterday at 9:00AM, everyone in my office can no longer print Arial Black, it shows up blank. This font worked perfectly until yesterday.

Things I did:

Rebooted printer
Reset memory on printer
reinstalled the printer driver.

Very strange, any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris B.

What else has changed in your environment?  Did you perform any software upgrades, patches, etc.?  Is this happening in an particular software package, or across the board for every application?  What kind of printer, workstation OS and application(s) are you printing from?

did you try deleting reinstalling the font?

The HP 5000 is a network printer. People are using Windows XP and 2000. Its happening across the board on every application.

If your printer is connected to a print server check the fonts and drivers on that box.

If your printer is connected to a jet direct card and everyone is connected directly to that card without passing trough a print server, you might want to test the printer on its parallel port.

What you can check on the printer.

1.      Check event log (give us error codes if any, apart from paper jam)
2.      Print a pcl font list. (check for missing arial font)
3.      Clear nvram (hold down cancel button while powering on)
4.      Reseat any memory or Rom chips. (Unplug printer first and use a ground strap)

I had to reimage the box, it had other issues. This corrected the problem
