Outlook Express problem with .dbx file

I wanted to copy all mails from my Inbox after a particular date to one folder. I created a folder called test and then instead of copying all the files I moved it to the folder. I wanted to mail the folder to a friend of mine. So I went to the directory where the .dbx files are kept and cut ( I made a mistake ) the test.dbx file and pasted it in C: to attach it vide mail.Later I realized my folly that I have moved the messages from my Inbox to the folder instead of copying,so I pasted back the folder test.dbx back to the directory where .dbx files are kept. But when I went to Outlook express the folder test is not appearing at all , while the test.dbx file has been pasted. What should I do, Please help me, thanks in advance

try doing this

move that test.dbx to a different directory in your machine ..

open OE
go to inbox and create a subfolder under test.
now close OE
now go to the location where all the dbx files are located and see if a new test.dbx has been created.
if yes, rigtht-click and go to properties and make sure when it was created and what is the file size of it.

now copy the test.dbx that you moved to a different directory to this one..
now open OE and check
