HP procurve 8000 - Friendly port names

     I would like to know if any of you know how to configure friendly port names on an HP Procurve 8000 HP J4110A ProCurve Switch 8000M
Firmware revision C.09.16
     also anyone have a manual for these things.

    Not familar with that switch so I am not sure about configuring the ports on that box, however here is a link for the manual you need:

    I took a quick look at the manual, if you do a search of the pdf manual for "ports" there is a ton of references, hopefully you can find what you are looking for there. If not,let us know here and we will try to help you further. Looks like a decent switch to be working with. :)
