Mcafee software SecurityCenter is blank?

OK I have mcafee virusscan, firewall, antispyware and quickclean. I got them at compusa on a deal where I bought 2 and got the oher 2 free. They are all the latest up to date versions. Well now everything worked fine until just recently. I open security center and the top part of the screen that says mcafee securitycenter, and has updates and it's icon, support and it's icon and help and it's icon. shows normally. Below this where it should tell me my security levels and give me options and tabs to select is just a blank white area. I tried scanning my system for malware 3 times. Twice with mcafee and once with an online scanner from trend micro. I found no malware. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all my mcafee software and that did not work. I uninstalled it again and used this registry code I downloaded from mcafee tech support to delete mcafee out of my registry, then I went in and searched for all the mcafee components to make sure it was gone from the registry. I deleted a few more registry keys that had to do with mcafee. I reinstalled. Same problem. I tried going into msconfig and disabling everything that didn't have to do with windows or mcafee. Same thing. Nothing that I have done so far has worked at all. I don't want to format and reinstall my system to fix this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello TeknoJunrei =)

If its Win2k\XP then try this, create a new user account and login with it, open Security center there and check if same problem there also ??
if No then try this, from your old user, uninstall Mcafee and then delete its folder from Program Files, and then open C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data folder, here you should see a Mcafee folder, delete it also !!

Restart and now reinstall Mcafee and now check if same problem.... Post Back and this time plzz tell the version of your Mcafee product also :)

Sheharyaar Saahil: I looked for that application data folder and I can't find it. There is a user data folder but it has no mcafee folder inside... I am doing a search on mcafee to see if I can find anything...

I deleted anything that had the name mcafee on my system... Reinstalled and the problem still exists on my main account. Is the application data folder hidden?

ok im sorry TeknoJunrei for not replying back early... as i was out the whoel day..... have came back just before sometime :)

So back to your problem now.... Yes Application data is a hidden folder inside your profile, and when you will turn on Show Hidden Files, you can see it, When you will open it, it has all those folders for the programs installed on your system, and it should have the folder of Mcafee inside it.... if You dont have it, that means it ha already been deleted by Mcafee uninstallation and all Should be OK !!

And its the case with you, that means All should be Ok with you also, but as its not, then try this, uninstall Mcafee from your system, goto regedit, and then search for Mcafee, find all the keys and entries, and delete them, restart and now reinstall Mcafee and now check if same problem ??

If still the same issue with your user, that means Mcafee is innocent and corrupted is your user, so transfer it to the new user and move on with the new user :)

SheharyaarSaahilCommented:
importing.. hmmmm why dont you just try to put them in the new place exatly in the same location in the new profile from where you copied them in the old profile folder ??

SheharyaarSaahilCommented:
ok here is your problem >>  "I saved all the .dbx files and the one .wab file"

Microsoft Outlook's data files are .pst files and .pab file
so try this, open Search companion, set it to search hidden files also,
now search for .pst files and note down the location where it\they are present
now copy it\them to the same location in your new profile folder
do same for .pab file, restart and now check if you can get them in the new user or not ??

Also now there is a directory inside documents and settings that is named test (which is the test account I made to see if mcafee would run).... I just renamed test to my actual account name and now the test dir is still there but it won't let me delete it... I think it is still being used... Not sure... Should it still be here?

SheharyaarSaahilCommented:
no no.... you shouldn't try to rename the folders inside D&S folders..... that can create problems =\
now plzz leave the test account there as i cannot guess that upon deleting this folder, your new account will work or not, as your just renamed the folder and may be system recreated the Test again only for the reason that this new user is still looking at test folder and upon deleting itall the data from new user will get lost !!

It's OK I was mainly concerned with the address book... My emails were not really important. I had some in an archived folder for things like email telling me of passwords and such but all the passwords have been written on my pda too. The only wierd thing is that I still have that stupid test direcotry on my system... Shouldn't aqll my stuff be in my account directory since I  changed the name of the account from test to m,y regular account's name?

Are both Test and your New user show in Control Panel>User Accounts ??
