Laptop display turned green...

This is an odd question so bear with me here...

My bosses wife is in Hawaii completing some "work" for us...  She has called me to see if I might know why her laptop screen has turned greenish and blotchy.  Thinking that she did not carry on I thought it may of become damaged, but it was with her the whole time.  Has anyone ever had this problem.  I am thinking that the laptop is junk and going to hell (considering that it no longer charges the battery and the speakers do not work despite proper drivers installed).  Any ideas are appreciated!

If the notebook has an external vga port, please connect an external monitor and shift the display to it....if the external monitor is green as well then you have a problem with your motherboard and/or video card, if the external monitor is fine, you have a problem with the LCD assembly.
