how to change the look of my disktop?

hi everyone ,i'm using mandrake 10.0 and i would like to change the look of my disktop from

to
http://hankok.no-ip.info/aether-small.png

im using kde i would like to add the menu on the right that shows the mem , prossesor and all system activitys

But, the system activity program you're looking for is called gkrellm

Not sure, but I think it works for KDE as well as Gnome.
