One of my end users is trying to print an email in outlook 2002 and when they print, the result is outlook will shutdown.

Any suggestions on why this is occurring????

Hi zodiacadm,

Can you check if they can print fine in their Internet explorer ?

Is Outlook set as the default email client ?

Can you check if outlook has been fully updated ?

Apart from printing , is outlook behaving normally ?

Ask your user to do these

a)Open outlook .Go to help menu and click "Detect and repair". Check if this would help.

b) Repair PST :

c)Also take a backup of all emails and go to control panel ---> mail --> show profiles. create a new profile .Logon to that profile. import the PST file , create  an email account and then check how it goes.

Hi sunray,

Thanks for the reply. After asking more questions to the end user, the problem only occurs when they try to print an email from a specific sender. Printing emails from other senders does not cause a problem.

A couple of end users in our network are affected by this issue.
Can you get more info about that specific user.. What version of OL he is using and what is different in his sending email ?

All clients are running OL 2002 with SP3
Is the particular user that is sending the mail using any html, backgrounds or images in their email or is it just plain text?

Hi jgiordano,

The email is just plain text. I saved the email as an .html and trying to print the file also closes. The end user also tried copy and paste of the email into a word document and still causes the application to close.

The user forwarded the email on to me, but i have no issues with printing the email.
just curious to know what solved ur issue
