Sending .ETF attachments in mail

Hi there, who knows howcome when sending a mail with OSX Mail that the recipient in some cases gets a mail with .ETF attachments? seems very odd, and we are trying to get a way to have mails received w/o these .ETF attachments...

ETF is a MIME mail encoding that supports styled text  in messages
(fonts colors, etc).  Microsoft Outlook Express does not support etf
(or a number of other standard encodings).   For those recipients
using crappier email clients, you can send plain text messages or
send formatted text as an attachment.  For more information see:
