Windows 2000 / Exchange 5.5 issue

Trying to find out how to fix this problem.

Issue:  I make a domain account on my pdc.  I goto make a mailbox on my exchange server and it seems that the account is not being populated in the domain because i can't link the mailbox to the domain account.  It seems to not exist.  I go back to my pdc and there it is.  First trying to find out what can fix this (already rebooted).  Second trying to find out where the issue lies, my pdc or the exchange server.  Appreciate the support!

Check your Active Directory Connector (for Exchange 5.5) to make sure it's still setup properly and functioning.

Where do you check the active directory connector in 5.5?  The only connectors I know about are the ones to talk to other exchange servers.

Thanks

If you are using Exchange 5.5 stand-alone (not connecting the Exchange directory with Active Directory) then you won't find it.

Here are some articles on this - just in the event you have an ADC set up.

Just running server 2000 and a server with Exch 5.5.  This is the problem in a nutshell.  Sometimes I will see the new account that I setup in the pdc, and sometimes i won't.  Either way I can't map the exchange mailbox with the domain account.  I gett a mapping error, saying the account doesn't exist.  I am reading throught the assists everyone has given.  So far I don't think any of these describes my situation, but still working on it.  Thanks for the support.
No problem.  It's not always easy offering ideas when you can't see the issue firsthand.
