  Could someone give me code that will take a folder of subdirectories and files and store them in a auto extract (.exe) file

if making an auto extracting file is to hard then the folder can be zipped but include code that will unzip the folder

This will work...

1) Install Winzip http://www.winzip.com
2) Install Winzip command line utility http://www.winzip.com/prodpagecl.htm
3) Call shell execute
ShellExecute(NULL,"open","winzip32","c:\\temp\\compressdir\\*","",SW_SHOWMINIMIZED);

i need it to be compressed within my program so its more user friendly for my clients

yeah i hear you.  that was more of a quick solution for local testing.  if you need to incorporate zip functionality into your actual source code check out the following article.
