Have you tried to open it in Outlook express ?<br />
Just right-click the file , open with &quot;outlook or outlook express&quot; and check if you can view it .. <br />

or you can drag and drop that file into outlook express and see if you can view it <br />

change the file name to *.eml and view it in outlook express<br />

In order to Archive my email items in outlook, I exported them to msg files. &nbsp;What I am wondering is if I can preview them without opening them from windows explorer or from within outlook itself.<br />

BTW they are readable as eml file using outlook express, but that still requires me to open the file or import it into Express. &nbsp;Good thought though....

I can open windows folders in outlook which is good because I can see some of the email fields there. &nbsp;I can't preview the emails, but..... &nbsp;I guess I can't have everything.<br />
