Outlook Express won't save password

Using XP Pro and Otulook Express 6. In the Servers tab, we put in password and check Save Password. However, when OE checks email, it prompts for password everytime. I've seen this before on other pc's but never got to the bottom of it. What's the fix please.  Thanks.
