Log Files are Piling up and cannot purge w/ FULL Backup

I am having a very hard time making an online backup.

My log files are up to 16Gig and are virtual getting the best of me.

I have taken over as the admin of my company and need some assistance getting a proper backup. I am using VERITAS software.

Everytime I try to backup my information store I get the following errors.

I have moved both my log files and my database to different volumes. I still get the same results. PLEASE help; thanks so much as always.
