i am getting problem while doing  remote debugging in oc4j ;

using ant i created ear and  deployed into oc4j container;

 i have taken the same source files that i have recently created ear file;

i have created workspace in jdeveloper;

should i compile the source files in jdeveloper?

using http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/Java/Q_21185874.html#12434192\

i have started remote debugging ;

i put breakpoint in controller;

when i am debugging it has not stopped at breakpoint.what may be the problem;

yes in ur ant task that compile should look like this:

   <target name="ejb-classes" depends="prepare">

      <javac srcdir="${src.dir}/ejb" debug="on"
    destdir="${lib.dir}/ejb" includes="com/pmy/**" classpath="${dependency.lib}/j2ee.jar" />

   </target>

make sure debug is on (debug="on")

to generate the complied code with the needed debug info

hi petmagdy

good morning;

i am using ant upto creating ear file and deploying that ear into oc4j container;

after that i created workspace say release3.0.jws,under that two folders will be there
EJB.jpr and etrans.jpr;

i have imported all source files from c directory into this ejb.jar and  etrans.jpr respectively;

using rightclick rebuild EJB.jpr  and etrans.jar;compiled well;

Is it neccassary to compile EJB.jpr  and etrans.jar in jdeveloper;

because why i have doubt like this because already compiled class files are in ear file that i have deployed in oc4j;

in order to do remote debbugging the EAR should contain complied classes with the debug information is generated and included in the .class files
by default jdeveloper do this when u compile inside jdeveloper
if u want to do this from ant in ur javac tasks in ant (build.xml) just make sure that  (debug="on")

hi petmagdy

i think there is no need to compile ejb and etrans projects while doing remote debugging
