Does anyone know of any simple standalone software that will printout which tape number is to be used on which day allowing for rotation and retirement etc.?

It's a single server job with, at the moment, 20 tapes and doing it in Excel is just not really on any more

Why don´t you simply create a new set of Tapes like this :

1 Tape for mondays and Tag it " Monday ", do the same to all week days.( Rotate Weekly )

1 Tape for the Week Backup, call it " Week 1 ", do the same for the rest of the weeks.( Rotate Monthly )

1 Tape for the Month called " January ", do the same for the rst of the year. ( Rotate Yearly )

No way to get it wrong, and you will be using the Grandfather/ Father/ Son scheme.

After all these tapes, you can insert one ONLY to Full Backup the YEAR !!!

    Best Regards !

    Try backup assist.

Are you using windows backup (ntbackup)?  If you upgrade to a program like arcserve or backupexec you can get the software to manage the rotation scheme for you.

    Hope this helps.
