kerio connection error

ive just installed kerio, the first windows "new connections"  asks for a password ive not set anything yet if i just click connect i get an error message "cannot connect to kerio mailserver at localhost connection has failed with error 111. please can some one advise me on this,

    localhost ???? you need to change in the client machine localhost for the kerio server ip

    At the moment only 1 machine is involved - the linux server is the client and the server.
