Printer error
got a canon laserprinter error..
After the lightning stroke last night, i havent managed to get connected to the printer, I can turn the printer on, the machine works as usual, but printer just cant get connected. Its connected via USB.
Have tried to reinstall drivers for USB and printer, but nothing..
So im wondering if the lightning would have something to do with this? or is it just a error that suddenly arrived?

Can you do a self test print from the printer?

A couple of things to test out first... plug in a USB cable you know works. Go to Device Manager and remove everything in the USB section, Host Controllers, Root Hubs, etc. Now go to the top of the window and right click the computer name and click "Scan for Hardware changes" If the USB ports are still working it will reinstall everything and locate the printer. I do this as a normal fix for just about all my USB printer problems and it saves a lot of time and troubleshooting. Good luck and I hope this helps.

okei, the printer works at another machine, so its not the printer, will try to remove everything in USB section too see if this will make it work.
