SpyBot S&D aborts run part way through with "invalid data type"
I have SpyBot Search and Destroy - new, I just downloaded it last week (after uninstalling the version I had before, in case the problem was in that version.) It shows that it has 21,097 spyware signatures, and shows its progress going through them. I get to about 6200 and it suddenly stops - showing "all clear" for the part it searched, but with this message too:
"Error during Check! 2020 Search (ungultig Datentyp fur ")
The German means invalid data type for "
So something is blocking about two/thirds of the search for spyware. The Help function in SpyBot has not been useful.
Any ideas?

1. The bug-fix site is no longer active. SpyBot says it took the fix down and is rebuilding the program. It admits there's a bug, though ...
2. I removed the program again and downloaded it via spychecker (which took me to webattack.com) - previously I had downloaded it from download.com. Same result - in fact it checked about 5000 signatures rather than 6000 before saying "invalid data type" (in German).
So - neither suggestion fixed the problem. JVUZ had the right answer, but out of date ...
thanks for trying, though - looks as if I'll have to wait for the programmers to get it right!

It's a bug in Spybot, but there is a fix for it.
