backup problems

incremental backups not running during the week nothing in the activity log using arcserve 2000 on windows 2000 server

have recycled the job as advised by and still same problem

in the event log there are warnings logged event id number 3032 and 3062 have checked for these errors and cannot find anything

please help!

What is meant by "not running"?
Do the jobs start and then fail or not start at all?
Just on the error numbers, if those are arcserve error codes then you'll find a list here:

error 3032: Compression is disabled due to hardware data compression  

error 3062: Unable to find anti-virus DLL. (EC=ms_error_code)  (it's looking for AVH32DLL.DLL)

Neither of these look like the sort of problem that would prevent a backup from proceeding.

the backup job does not complete i have had a look at the link above and yes it gives an explanation on the error but not a solution !

Just to rule out some things: (1) Have you restarted the Arcserve services/restarted the server (2) When you setup the backup job, is Anti-virus scanning turned off/disabled/unchecked?
Don't want to assume anything before more research.

Put the Job Engine in debug mode and then copy in the portion of the activity for one of these jobs.

How many volumes should it backup?
How many does it backup before stopping?
Does it always stop on the same volume?

how do i put the job engine in debug mode? it does not backup anything
ARCserve Server Admin, (found in the program group), click the cog and wrench icon, Job Engine tab, set message level to debug.
