<Critical> <EmbeddedLDAP> <000000> <java.lang.NegativeArraySize Exception> in WLS 8.1 SP2

My weblogic server is hosted on the HPUX 11.
When I startWebLogic.sh (in WLS 8.1 SP2), I always see this error:
<Nov 17, 2004 8:24:39 PM EST> <Critical> <EmbeddedLDAP> <000000> <java.lang.NegativeArraySize
        at com.octetstring.vde.EntryChanges.readBytes(EntryChanges.java:274)
        at com.octetstring.vde.EntryChanges.<init>(EntryChanges.java:72)
        at com.octetstring.vde.replication.BackendChangeLog.getChange(BackendChangeLog.java:4
        at com.octetstring.vde.replication.Replicator.run(Replicator.java:143)
        at com.octetstring.vde.replication.Replication.run(Replication.java:355)

What is the cause of this exception ?

1 Solution
This was a bug with WL 7.x, and the fix was to remove the following files from the server's ldap/ldapfiles/ directory:

The files will most likely be called EmbeddedLDAP.tran, EmbeddedLDAP.trpos, and EmbeddedLDAP.twpos.  The server can't be running when you delete these files, but since your server won't start I don't think it'll be a problem.

You might want to try the old fix and see if it works for you.  I suggest copying those files to a temp directory instead of deleting them.

Did this work out for you?
