IIS is killing me. Reinstalling IIS? Please Help My HeadAche.

I try to open a project and IIS tells me that it is unable to get project file from web server. Is there  a way to repair the whole IIS?
I installed Visual studio 2005 and it gave me problems and I uninstalled it and I still have problems. I reinstalled visual 2003 .net.
I am still having this error.

You can reinstall IIS. How complex an operation that is will depend on what else is using IIS. For example if Exchange is on the server as well then you have to be very careful with how you go about it to ensure that you don't loose data.

Google for reinstall IIS. Use the keywords "windows 2003" or "windows 2000" depending on your version and also include the string site:support.microsoft.com so that you get the KB articles.
