MySQL integration with Active Directory...

Let me present this as a need:

We want to do the following:

Provide access to various parts of a website via the groups defined in our Active Directory -

So, I'm looking for ways to integrate that- I don't know if there's something like a PHP script that could make the calls each time someone accesses a page (to find out what group the username belongs to)
or if I'm looking to tie MySQL into Active Directory and build a dynamic table (or update a table every day to reflect user changes), or what..

Seems like many approaches would work-
1. Do this entirely in PHP on the website (which is running IIS btw)
2. Use MySQL somehow
3. I know LDAP's out there- but I'm not sure if our AD has the connectors, and I'd probably run into resistance in modifying our AD to do that-

AFAIK there is no way to integrate AD into mysql. You can only replicate "via a script you need to write" the data and populate tables with that information. THos infomation will always be behind. I suggest using ldap in php to authenticate the users.

e.g A class that can auth against a AD (AFAIK that ldap-connector should be available by default)
