Socket 775 Power supply adapter cable

I found an adapter cable to convertan atx  20  to 24 pin  Power supply to work with a socket 775 motherboard. Has anyone heard of using these are their any reprecussions?

    My friend uses the adapter on this chipset and it seems to be working fine..

    i think it is only adding an extra 4-pin power plug for the CPU. i do not see any reason why it should not work, if the power supply is capable ogf delivering the power needed.
