HP 2510 Xi All in One Printer/scanner/copier problem.

I ahve a customer who has this HP 2510 Xi All in One Printer/scanner/copier. When I run the software I get "Access is Denied" error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and that did not work. I went to make sure my permissions on the user account in Xp were set to "everyone". Actually setting the account to everyone worked. We went to scan a document. It scanned fine. When it got about 60% through the processing of the document it gave me an illegal error and shut down and I ended up choosing the option to start with last known good configuration. Went to run the software again and got the " Access is denied" again. I suppose I should have hit "Start normally" instead ?
Can anybody help me with this to resolve my issue?
