Kernel Update Issue

Hi im running redhat 9.0 and i just upgraded my kernel from 2.4.20-8 to 2.4.20-31.9 using the rpm i downloaded from redhats ftp site.

The problem that im getting is that i needed to download the source code for that, but whenever i install the source it works fine, but i doesnt create the files in /usr/src/

The command i used to run the RPM was: rpm -ivh kernel-2.4.20-31.9.src.rpm

Does anyone know why it does this, or where its being copied too? i done a search but it returned nothing...Its pretty urgent i cant get my nvidia Geforce FX 5200 card to install without the source for the kernel..

Please HELP!!

the kernel doesn't have anything to do with the video card !!!!!
Go to nvidia site download the driver for your video card , and follow the instructions.
And I am not going to lie the first time sucks!
> rpm -ivh kernel-2.4.20-31.9.src.rpm
You need to download "kernel-source-2.4.20-31.9.i386.rpm", not src.rpm.
# rpm -ivh kernel-source-2.4.20-31.9.i386.rpm

By the way, the latest RedHat 9 update packages is in the following RL:
http://download.fedoralegacy.org/redhat/9/updates/i386/kernel-2.4.20-37.9.legacy.i686.rpm  <==newer kernel
http://download.fedoralegacy.org/redhat/9/updates/i386/kernel-source-2.4.20-37.9.legacy.i386.rpm  <== newer source
Then follow the nVidia's driver's instruction.

nah the video card is really easy to install, all you have to do is run the nvidia driver package and make a change to the XF86Config, the problem i was getting was that on the new kernel the installer was asking for kernel source, something like that, any ways all good thanx for the help guys..
