How do I set the max_file_size variable for uploads in PHP ?

Is the max_file_size variable in the php.ini file and what section is it in. I haven't been able to locate it.
Thanks,

There is no configuration option max_file_size that would be evaluated in php.ini. There isn't also a max_file_size option for mysql. For which purpose do you want to set that value ??

The name of the directive is 'upload_max_filesize', it is in the 'files upload' section of php.ini
  http://www.php.net/manual/en/ini.sect.file-uploads.php

PS: this Topic area is intended for questions about the MySQL database.
