Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) basic instructions?

Does anyone know of a location to get basic instructions to get this software to work?

I understand that there are Computer Groups and Rule Groups, but don't understand how they interact.  I'm never opposed to reading the manual myself, the problem is that I'm having a hard time finding something basic -- I did look at the msft website and found the 8-10 documents they have.  All assume the software is already setup and configured and that is where I am having the problem.

If someone has some basic instructions, please post them and I'll gladly up the points to 500 for the question.

I don't know about basic instructions, but there is a virtual lab that is free to use from Microsoft's website.  I thought it was pretty good:

I was also able to dig the following link up that provides more basic information.  If I spot anything else...I'll post it:

I am using the MOM 2005 version.

Get hold of the reviewers guide from the Microsoft MOM web site. It sits you through most of the basic stuff - that is what I did when I was looking at MOM a few weeks ago.

Readily agree that the documentation doesn't make things totally clear.
