Username, password on WinNT

My boss wanted me to install win 2000 on her Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop on which was Win NT. However before she gave me the laptop she tried to connect to a the network with it and she just went in and added a workgroup and now when I switch on the machine it asks us for a Username & Password, and the old ones are not working.

I went into the BIOS and changed the boot order so as the CD-ROM boots first and I have tried booting directly from the win2k cd rom and I also downloaded an application to change the registry settings and I burnt that to a cd and tried booting from that but nothing works. Please help if you can.
