It turns out it was the router. I didn't have port 20 open.....<br />
Also, the host of the FTP site didn't have the user setup properly but that was a different problem.<br />

I'm trying to access an FTP site on a computer at a branch office LAN. The branch network is part of a domain hosted at the central office. the two networks are connected via VPN through D-Link 804HV VPN routers. Users access the internet through the VPN router aswell.<br />
When I goto connect to the FTP site, it will connect but when I try to log in, it times out.<br />
