ATI Radeon 9800 How can I switch from Monitor to Projector

How to do get the display to show on the monitor & on the projector. We can get the picture on the projector and monitor, but not both at the same time.  The projector is plugged into the s-video port.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Does it have VGA and DVI? if so you can use an adapter and just connect both projector and monitor on those.

Can you enable both monitors in the Ati Displays tab? In the "settings" tab of "display poperties" press "advanced" and go to the "displays tab" You should be able to use  both monitors at the same time by pressing the "power" buttons of the vga output and the tv out.

This information is for cloning (mirroring) the screen with the ATI Radeon 9600, 9700 Pro or 9800 Pro when using ATI Enhanced Display Drivers under Windows XP. This will provide the same picture on each screen. This must include the ATI Control Panel for the advanced features. This method assumes that you have already connected a second monitor or a TV to the graphics card. This can include a CRT and LCD connected to the analog or DVI connection. It can also include a television connected through an S-Video connection, but one of the displays connected to the DVI or analog connection must be disconnected. Only two devices can be connected to the ATI Radeon 9200, 9600, 9700 Pro or 9800 Pro at one time. Ensure the latest ATI video card drivers are installed for this feature.

From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

In Control Panel, click Appearances and Themes.

In Appearances and Themes, click Display.

In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.

Click the Advanced button.

Click the ATI Display tab.

Select the different display adapter by clicking the enable\disable button located in each display type. The button will change to green in color when enabled.
Note: The name of the tab may vary depending on the ATI video card and monitor being used.

Note: The display resolution may be adjusted to the screen resolution that is supported by both display adapters. For example, if there is an 18-inch LCD that supports up to 1280×1024 and a 15-inch LCD that supports up to 1024×768, the screen resolution can only go to 1024×768 since the 15-inch LCD only supports up to that resolution. It is recommended to use the same size display adapters for using cloning to ensure the desktop sizes are the same and to ensure the screen size will have the proper picture.

Another way of doing this, is to right click on your desktop, select properties.
Click on the Settings tab followed by Advanced.
This takes you to your ATI display settings.
Under devices you simply click on the red/green buttons to activate as you already know but the small squares
beneath is for mirroring devices. This cannot be run in a high frequency though, usually about 60Hz.
Hope this helps,
