sorry... the server always has a static ip.  when i used different IP types for the client is where the problem arises and the error shows up.  nothing happens on the server end.

well the dynamic ip comes from different isp's.  For example i have a user that goes home and uses sbc.   The static ip is not on the same subnet.  I'm assuming the dynamic is not either.

sorry i am not familiar with setting up vpns.

I'm not sure what IP the vpn is handing out.  the only thing that changes is that a user can use a static ip given by an internet provider and they can access the vpn.  if the user is at home using a dsl connection with a dynamic ip the vpn gives that error.

is there a specific place i can check the ip the vpn is giving?
