Error accesing log transaction tempdb database

I'm working whith SQL SERVER 2000 and Windows 2003 server. I move the tmpdb (with alter command) database since default location to other location in other hard disk. When my applications access to its own databases, the following error is displayed: "Fatal error 9001 ocurred at...(time of the troubble). I'm sure about de correct procedure to moving that database, but in my logs i see the message: "Error: 9001, Severity: 21, State: 1
The log for database 'tempdb' is not available..".

Thanks a lot!

Exactly what ALTER command did you run?
Anthony PerkinsCommented:
From BOL:

Specifies an operating system file name. When used with MODIFY FILE, FILENAME can be specified only for files in the tempdb database. The new tempdb file name takes effect only after SQL Server is stopped and restarted.
