hi,

im using outlook express 6 and i have three different accounts set up. (2 pop and a hotmail)

i just added one of the pop addresses recently.

the two old accounts (one pop, one hotmail) have their own accounts in the 'folders' section, but when i get email from the new account, it shows up in the local folders inbox.

how do i get it to create its own account in the folders section?

Hi bramsquad,

Do this
go to inbox
right-click the name "inbox" and create a sub-folder .

now go to tools > message rules > mail
click  NEW

choose these under each condition

1) Where the TO line contains people
2) Move it to specific folder
3) For contains people select " the new pop account" and for specific folder , choose the new sub-folder that you had created.

now whenever u get an email for this new account , it would go to that new folder.

so the only way to do this is to redirect mail into a specific folder?

when i added my other accounts i got all the subfolders etc included with that.  is there no way to view it like the others?

i took a screenshot to illustrate what i mean here

http://www.geocities.com/drakefresh/outlook.JPG

if you look on the left, youll see my two accounts, can i have my third show up like these two?

is mail.mac.com that you have setup is an imap account ?

if you have only 2 pop and hotmail and if mail.mac.com is one of the pop accounts then why dont you make the new account to download into local folder's inbox and rest in other folders

For other accounts did you give create an imap account. If yes, it would give all those folders.
Check for this account (i mean the new account that you are trying if it can be accessed using IMAP) and if yes, you can set it up in accounts and can get all the folders like the other ones

im sorry, the .mac account is an imap account, the new one is a pop account

im guessing that imap accounts allow you to see all the folders...

the one im trying to setup is in fact a pop account (so ill just use your first comment)

thanks for your patience.
