package and deployment wizard stucks

hi i am creating package for my project. it uses various controls. application works fine when i run it from code. however when i try to create a package, it starts wizard, on the form where it takes path to create the package, it goes to not responding state forever.
what could be the solution? any help would be appreciated

    Are you using VB6? If so,what service pack are you running? Also,you might want to check out Inno setup:

    Its a free installer that works well and creates a single file setup.exe

    yes i am using vb6 on windows xp, any ideas about the problem with the deployment wizard ?

      R u running the Project ?
     First u create an exe of the Project , while creating EXE u can find few more errors unknown to u(if exist)
     check whether that exe is running properly.
    Now u try package and deplyoment wizard
    let me know the result ...

    aaahhh there was something wrong with the project file (.vbp). i created a new project from scratch and included all the files. it worked :)
