An error appears at login: Cannot find the file C:\WINNT\Speech\odbcbas.exe ( or one of its components)

Is this something to worry about?  It is annoying and just started happening.  You can click on OK and it goes away but I don't know if it is a potential problem down the road.

I did that - sfc /scannow and hit enter
Nothing happened, is something supposed to appear and show what it is doing?
What is sfc /scannow used for?
Thanks
Can you login with another user account and see what happens?

When I run this it asks for the Windows OS cd.  Do I have to use the reinstallation cd that came with the pc in question or can I use any Windows 2000 OS cd?
the quick and easy fix might be check your startup folder make sure it is not there, then seach the registry for it in a startup /run once there...and remove it

Check the startup folder under Programs and what about the second item.  Startup /run once is what part of the registry?
