How can you disable a checkbox?

Good morning, Experts!
  I have a  checkbox that cannot be clicked when a flag = Y and message box comes up informing user that he cannot click it. How can I gray it out or disable it so that I can be sure they will not check it?

Thank you

Have two checkbox fields one computed for display and one editable. The computed for display will be visible when flag =Y and editable one will be visible when flag is not equal to Y

It's 16:34 here...

Are you talking Notes or browser? In Notes: is the form in edit-mode? I think it cannot be done in R5, you can hide it with hide-when's. In R6, there is the Input Enabled property of a field.

If it is web then in the HTML attributes just give this;

@if (Flag='Y';"disabled = \"true\"";"")

fromthe help:Input Enabled only works when the field style is set to Native OS.

Click on the field in the Designer, then look at the left, in the field's properties stuff, where Default Value is, th 4th line.

1-1 bro! Moreover, there's no Input Enabled in R5, so no backward compatibility.
