I have written a devide driver from a sample and was able to build it.

I need to know how to:
-build a inf file for my device driver
-install the device driver
-view the output from dbgPrint

1. DDK contains INF file reference. See "Creating an INF File".
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/archive/W2inf.mspx

DDK sample has inf file for each sample, and inf file templates in the src\setup\infs directory.
Read about inf files in the books:
The Windows 2000 Device Driver Book, A Guide for Programmers, Art Baker and Jerry Lozano
Programming the Microsoft Windows Driver Model, Walter Oney.

Instead of inf file you can write your own installation program. See this example: http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/ctrl2cap.shtml

2. If you have inf file, use Windows Hardware Wizard (Add New Hardware) to install it. If you have custom installation program, run it.

3. http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/debugview.shtml

This utility shows debug output both from user and kernel mode. To enable kernel mode capture, open Capture menu.
