set path=c:\j2sdk1.4.2_06\bin;
java -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=7777,server=y,suspend=n -Xmx512m -Djdbc.connection.debug=true -Dp6.home=C:\OC4J_EXTENDED\j2ee\home\lib -Dp6trace=true  -jar C:\OC4J_EXTENDED\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar  -userThreads -verbosity 10 -out log\std_out.log -err log\std_err.log

ok

once i compile the servlets
 Is it must to shutdown the container;

in tomcat there is no need to shutdown the server if u made changes in server.xml change the  option loadable="true" ;

is there any option in oc4j for hotdeployment?

petmagdyCommented:
yes it has hotdeployment, in ur server.xml if u have ur application ear defined like this:

    <application name="tawla" path="c:\myfolder\myAppEar.ear" auto-start="true" />

if u rebuild ur ear again, OC4J will update automatically no restart is needed

i already build my ear using ant and deployed in the container and is running;

i will make the change in server.xml as u said.

now i will come to the Jdeveloper workspace

i changed one servlet file in web.jpr workspace

once i compile the servlet in the jdeveloper

jdeveloper o/p path is C:\OC4J_EXTENDED\j2ee\home\applications\ETEAGL3170020041102\etrans\WEB-INF\classes

i am putting class file directly to container.

now should i shutdown my container.

yes suppose too, OC4J monitor the changes based only on 2 changes:

1- changes in directory C:\OC4J_EXTENDED\j2ee\home\applications
2- changes in defined ears in server.xml

important! if u r going to use server.xml ear definition, then u must remove ur deployment from C:\OC4J_EXTENDED\j2ee\home\applications
for the same application only one deployment is allowed
