From what I know that Net2Phone proprietary protocol is the only one supported on Net2Phones equipmnet, which you are aware of, just searched all the VoIP sights and not a sign of anything indicating a firware upgrade or even a hack for that fact.

If you could find out who actually makes the equipment for Net@Phone you may see if they have such a thing. I know you dsaid you heard it was possible, from who or where?

Who is your new provider? Most of the providers on the Internet support SIP rather than H.323, so if you need to move to purcahse other gateways you can start here:

Also if you are looking for some higher end gateways I would recommend the new generation of Gateways from WWW.Quintum.com

Hope this helps! Post back if you need more information.

Kindest regards,

firware upgrade or even a hack for that fact... ?

 I really appreciated your comments , but i dont think that im hacking since i paid for this device is mine is not from net2phone , now im just looking the way to keep using this one, because net2phone rates are not good enough for me , but well i will leave this open for a while to see if someone else have any other idea.

 Thanks for the link Joel

The reference for a hack is more of "unsupported" but availiable. Where did you purchase the MAX products? Can the Max product be purchased from someone else other than Net2phone or one of thier partners?

Looked for a little while; no luck still, one thought, you may be able to direct calls to another 3rd party gateway which could then be connected to your new provider?

MAX --> N2Phone network --> MAX --> 3rd party Gateway --> New provider

 I think that i that in  way i will have so much hops , but once again thanks, im still looking i will let u know as soon as i find that solution. I know that someone have that firmware, now i also now that is not 100% secure it might damage the device. .. so , but i would like to try.

 I ll let you know ok.

Look at it this way, if the device goes bad, you were more than likely have to purchase a new one anyway.

Just something to consider in the future, when purchasing any technology see wgat their upgrade policy is for new technologies. The PBX industry is infested with non-upgradeable equipment, looks like Net2Phone followed the same path in some ways.
