IE unbale to open secured websites

I think this is a Norton Security issue. WHen I want to go check my bank statments online for example I get "Page can't be displayed" Yet on my other compiuter I can acess all sites. Both machines are running XP Pro and Norton Internet Security. XP Firewall is off on both. The PC with limited acess in about 2 months old. Any thoughts

Hello 6784 =)

Some basic suggestions :)

1. Try the suggestions from here >> http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813444
2. Uninstall Norton and reinstall it again to check
3. Run this Winsock Repair Tool >> http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

Norton Security also includes a firewall. Compare the firewall setting with your old computer. Secured sites need port 443 (https), online banking may also use other ports, dependend on the way you connect to your bank (Web / HBCI etc.)

Thanks for answering my question. I read through a MSN article, followed the steps and my IE performance got wrose. ??????? Then it said to a rollback and that worked. A couple of days ago I went through and deleted all the cookies and temp.files. Maybe that had something to do with it? Everything seems fine now
