How to add bookmarks to a PDF when exporting from Crystal Reports

I have an application (VB.NET) that generates a multiple paged report (using Cyrstal.NET) and is exported to a PDF.  Is it possible to create bookmarks during the export?  (I am assuming that its not possible...if so....HOW?? ).  Therefore, without purchasing any third party components to do so, how can I encorporte my Crystal Report to include bookmarks when I exported the report to PDF?  I know that there is embedded code, within the PDF itself (by opening the PDF in a text editor),  for adding bookmarks, so would it be possible for me to create my report then add the bookmarks to the PDF after it has been generated?  Although I would need to know the syntax for the PDF itself.....Any help would be greatly appreciated.
