What is the best program to backup data files onto DVD? I have used nero and either i am using it wrong or its not working the way I want... I basically want to be able to bring this dvd anywhere and use it on any computer with a dvd/cd rom.. I believe nero put all my data files into one compressed file and in order to restore the data I had to have nero 6 and use the restore function.. What is the best software to backup data on DVD??? quickest/most reliable/easy to use/etc, etc    Thanks in advance!!! Happy Turkey Day..

yeah coz AFAIK burning Data DVDs shouldn't produce a compressed file on the DVD... its a simple procedure of adding your files and then buring then, same as we do with Data CDs :)

ok I am using nero 6.6 so i think its a bit different, I dont see how to use the wizard... But basically I can just open nero express and choose my dvd burner as the destination, choose data disc, shows 4500mb free, choose my files, uncheck the add files later option, and then write... Burning on my other computer as I type... I will let you know how it goes.. I will test the dvd on this computer to see if i can use it here like a cd-r

OK that worked really well... I cant believe i didnt try that originally.. Sometimes I can be so ignorant.. Um, so i am backing up a bunch of music, like 12 folders on each dvd... How would you recommend keeping track of what is on the dvd?? I guess i could get actual dvd cases and use a printfolders tool and just print the folders/files  and put that paper in the dvd case... Any other ideas... Hahaha
