We run SBS with DHCP enabled. But would like to use the features available in IAS. Can I hard fix the IP addresses on the client machines we wish to run IAS on, without creating knock on problems?

Any help appreciated.

yes you can use fixed ip for your clients.
but you have to exclude this ip's from your dhcp range.
the same applies for the isa server. it should have a fixed ip address.
