Whenever I try and open the Clip Organizer, it says "Clip organizer cannot complet this operation.  Class not registered.  Error Code:  0x80040154".... I found something about it on microsoft's page - something about an old dll and they had a download to fix it, but it doesn't apply to windows xp -- the description of the problem says it applies to office 2000, I have office pro xp.... i found another page in which someone had the same prob and someone wrote back, start run regsvr32 ole32.dll... did that... nothing.... i've reinstalled, etc.... how can i fix this......

I have windows xp.... the only mdac version I see on the website for xp is 2.8 -- I downloaded it last night and when I try and run it, it says "MDAC 2.8 RTM is incompatible with this version of windows.  All of its features are currently part of windows."..... ???

Are you sure.... the error you are getting is common for SP2... SP1 based system shouldn't have any problem with MDAC v2.8!
was SP2 ever installed on the machine and then removed later ??

found something here,

OK, how to repair a copy of MDAC 2.8 on WinXP with SP2 installed

first, locate the mdac.inf file in c:\windows\inf right click and
install
when prompted for a location, point to
c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 then when promtpet for the XPcd,
either load the cd or point to c:\i386

hey presto, this reinstalls / repairs MDAC 2.8

:D
