how to disable menu for user who has not login

im actually doing a GUI which consist of a tabbedpane(acts as a menu)..

my question is if someone has not login, can i disable those tabbedpane menu using any of the predefined method??

Have them disabled by default at startup and then enable on login

Use http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/javax/swing/JTabbedPane.html#setEnabledAt(int, boolean)

when you first show the gui and disable the appropriate tabs. Enable on login

i meant "disable the whole frame" except one "dialog box"

You can use a JDialog in modal mode. This will stop further input until logon has occurred

why don't you just not add the tabs until the user logs in.
