Is there any way I can make my USB 1.0 faster? I use it for my external CD burner and it is really slow.

Add a usb 2.0 card to your computer.

And is your external cd burner a usb 1.1 or usb 2.0 device?

If you have a usb 2.0 cd burner, it will be MUCH faster with a usb 2.0 card in there.

There is NO way of speeding up usb 1.1 faster than its max speed unless you just add a pci usb 2.0 or a cardbux usb 2.0 card to your desktop or laptop respectively.

If your burner is a usb 1.1 burner, it will NEVER get faster than usb 1.1 speeds.

USB 1.1 has a much lower top speed than USB 2.0.  The only sure way of speeding up your connection is to disable or remove the USB 1.1 port(s) and install a USB 2.0 I/O card with the accompanying software.  That way you should see the immediate improvement without question.  A different driver or other modification cannot speed up a USB 1.1 connection.

Also make sure you use a USB 2.0 cable to connect any I/O device to the port.
